I-600 Approval and Update on John Parker

I received an update today! John is 15.4 lbs and 25.5 inches. Here is what his update reads (verbatim).

Feeding: He has 150cc of warm formula (six spoons of powder milk + one spoon of baby cereal) every two and a half hours. He usually has it all at once. After eating formula, he often throws up. If be held in the arms and patted after eating formula, he burps well. He needs feeding once at night (around at 1:00am). He has a strong sucking power.

Sleeping: He goes to sleep around at 10:00pm, and gets up at 6:00am. During the time, he wakes up once for a bottle. He seldom fights for falling asleep. If you put him on the side and stroke him, he falls into sleep easily. When he falls asleep deeply, you put him on the mattress of a floor and you have to lie next to him. He likes to sleep lying on the side. His napping time is not settled down. So he takes several naps a day each for 1-2 hours.

Elimination & Bathing: He has a bowel movement everyday in good condition. He is bathed everyday, usually in the evening. He doesn't like bath time. So he cries when he is put in water.

Basic Word in Korean: He smiles and babbles well.

General Development: He turns his head towards the direction of sounds. He makes eye contact with others and smiles. And he babbles well. He lifts his head a little placed on the stomach. He grabs his fists when palms touched. He follows a moving object with his eyes. He watches his hands and plays with them and sucks them. He grabs and object if be put on his palm. He puts the strength to his legs if stood up. He enjoys going outside. He recognizes his own name.

Worker's Comment: He is around 4-month-old bright and healthy baby boy. He is now growing well in the close care of the foster family. I do hope he will grow to be a happy and healthy child with love and affection of the adoptive parents.

Included in the package is 12 pictures, only a few of which I can make out from the fax (He looks like he's crawling in it.) My agency sent them via fed-ex, so I'll post them tomorrow if I can. I'm so happy! :)

UPDATE: I came home and checked my email and guess what?? WE GOT I-600 APPROVAL (our I-171). That means that 4-8 weeks from today (Dec 12 - Jan 9), we should receive a phone call saying John is ready to travel! WOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
